Paraconsistent-Lib: an intuitive PAL2v algorithm Python Library
Junior, Arnaldo de Carvalho, da Cruz, Diego Oliveira, Alves, Bruno da Silva, Junior, Fernando da Silva Paulo, Filho, João Inacio da Silva
Abstract: This paper introduces Paraconsistent-Lib, an open-source, easy-to-use Python library for building P AL2v algorithms in reasoning and decision-making systems. Paraconsistent-Lib is designed as a general-purpose library of P AL2v standard calculations, presenting three types of results: paraconsistent analysis in one of the 12 classical lattice P AL2v regions, paraconsistent analysis node (P AN) outputs, and a decision output. With Paraconsistent-Lib, well-known P AL2v algorithms such as Para-analyzer, ParaExtrCTX, P AL2v Filter, paraconsistent analysis network (P ANnet), and paraconsistent neural network (PNN) can be written in stand-alone or network form, reducing complexity, code size, and bugs, as two examples presented in this paper. Given its stable state, Paraconsistent-Lib is an active development to respond to user-required features and enhancements received on GitHub.Keywords: Paraconsistent-Lib, P AL2v, Python Library, Reasoning, Decision-Making1. IntroductionThe desire to create an automaton capable of imitating human behavior is long-standing.

What Does Artificial Intelligence Do Well? – PRINT Magazine
Many of us have, by now, seen a new crop of images online that look not-quite-right, or not quite believable (in the sense of slightly wrong images of famous people doing strange things); and many of us know, or have heard about, the explosion in AI imaging through programs like DALL-E, Midjourney, and an ever-increasing number of others. Some of us have friends or online friends who are producing images that have us intrigued. I have such a friend in Jonathan Hoefler, and as a discussion of the ethics/dangers of AI ensued on one of his Facebook posts (and for the purposes of this article, unless noted otherwise, when I refer to "AI" I am referring specifically to the image-generating form of AI, not the text-generating or any other kind or use), I decided I'd better check it out for myself before arguing either for or against. I was a bit afraid of getting into it because I was worried it might "imagine" better than I do, leaving me feel useless as an artist. I'd also heard it's addictive, and I was worried about that too.
The best global institutes for AI research
Did you know the perceptron, the first neural network stimulating the thought processes of the human brain, was actually created at a university? A major factor deciding the leading universities today is their research inclination. Universities supporting research not only strengthen the students with the academic knowledge but also enable them to apply their learnings to innovate. In AI, such universities are cutting edge because they encourage deep analysis, scholarly investigation and research to develop the industry. These help shape the leaders of tomorrow.

Creating a mental health monitoring system for senior citizens with artificial intelligence
The University of the United Arab Emirates has completed projects of artificial intelligence laboratories that work to create a mental health monitoring system for senior citizens and to contribute to the early detection of incurable brain diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory operates at the University as part of the Fourth Industrial Revolutionary Organization, which follows the University of the United Arab Emirates, by establishing five major laboratories to support the march of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the country. . Dr. Fadi Al-Najjar, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering and Director of the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, stressed that the UAE University is keen to accelerate and improve the development of educational technologies. The role of artificial intelligence in modern educational studies and programs seeks to improve project releases and curricula that meet the needs of the country's strategic plans and programs for the next fifty years. He said: The projects of the artificial intelligence laboratories at the university have been completed, creating a psychiatric monitoring system for senior citizens, predicting the future development of their cases, relying on the robot "Abu Chief", designed and developed in the laboratory, and with the technical support of Microsoft in the Middle East.

Professor Patrick Winston, former director of MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, dies at 76
Patrick Winston, a beloved professor and computer scientist at MIT, died on July 19 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. A professor at MIT for almost 50 years, Winston was director of MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory from 1972 to 1997 before it merged with the Laboratory for Computer Science to become MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). A devoted teacher and cherished colleague, Winston led CSAIL's Genesis Group, which focused on developing AI systems that have human-like intelligence, including the ability to tell, perceive, and comprehend stories. He believed that such work could help illuminate aspects of human intelligence that scientists don't yet understand. "My principal interest is in figuring out what's going on inside our heads, and I'm convinced that one of the defining features of human intelligence is that we can understand stories,'" said Winston, the Ford Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, in a 2011 interview for CSAIL.

Scenes from the birth of artificial intelligence
He is a co-inventor of the UNIX operating system and was a graduate student at MIT's pioneering Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Lab. After graduating cum laude in Physics from Harvard University, I went on to MIT for my graduate work. I started there in 1959, spending the first year and a half completing coursework for my Ph.D. qualifying exams. With that milestone behind me it was time to choose my Master's thesis topic. It was then that I decided to focus my thesis on the area of artificial intelligence.
Robotics pioneer Rodney Brooks debunks AI hype seven ways
We are surrounded by hysteria about the future of artificial intelligence and robotics--hysteria about how powerful they will become, how quickly, and what they will do to jobs. I recently saw a story in MarketWatch that said robots will take half of today's jobs in 10 to 20 years. It even had a g...
